Today has been declared a no-burn day under the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s Winter Spare the Air program.

It’s the second day in a row and the seventh time this winter that indoor and outdoor fires have been prohibited under the seasonal program, which is aimed at lessening air pollution on days forecast to have poor air quality.

The air quality district covers about half of Sonoma County, including its major cities up to Windsor.

The burn ban, already in effect Friday, will continue from midnight Friday to midnight today.
